Accomplishments

The Arizona Chapter supports its membership across a wide variety of platforms – from being a voice in advancing quality child health policies to helping pediatricians successfully serve their patients and run their small business practices.  Additionally, we several programs throughout the state to advance the needs of the overall health and well-being of our children. A sampling of our accomplishments include:

  • Favorably resolving significant billing issues with managed care companies
  • Developing a Chapter-level quality improvement effort on ADHD diagnosis and treatment
  • Offering in-office PEDS Tool training free of charge through the Chapter's Best Care for Kids Program
  • Regular communications with membership on emerging issues and calls to action to impact policy
  • Offering links for pediatricians to directly connect with their legislators, local pediatric societies, a calendar of significant medical events and other chapter specific information
  • Impacting the success of thousands of Arizona’s children through our statewide early childhood literacy program supported by nearly 800 member pediatricians
  • Advocacy and education efforts on immunizations and the impact on child health, vaccine reimbursements and other key initiatives.
  • Award-winning tools and education programs on childhood obesity

Every two years the Board of Directors tackles the strategic vision and strategies for the Chapter to meets the most pressing needs of its membership and its ability to improve the health of Arizona’s children.  Click here for our Strategic Goals that will guide the Chapter through 2019.
