Position Title: Sr. Coordinator of Health Initiatives, Poverty and Child Health


As a member of the Health Initiatives team, this position coordinates the daily functions within the Poverty and Child Health priority area of organization; including Childhood Obesity, Physical Activity, Screen Time, Food Insecurity, Mental and Behavioral Health, and Access to Care.


  • Under the direction of the Executive Director, coordinates the day-to-day activities of all related initiatives in the Poverty and Child Health priority area.
  • Maintains tracking sources and collects data to submit to the Executive Director and Director of Operations to meet requirements for each related program, project, and initiative.
  • Maintains databases of referrals, providers, and partners relevant to multiple projects.
  • Works to implement strategies of the Poverty and Child Health committee and related workgroups and taskforces with input from the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Attends coalition and community meetings to represent various health initiatives.
  • Works with partner organizations to promote awareness campaigns targeting childhood obesity and food insecurity.
  • Coordinates efforts to distribute information to AzAAP members by working with Constituent Services team.
  • Responsible for actively participating in and promoting Poverty and Child Health initiatives within all AzAAP fundraising events and projects, including but not limited to Speak Up for Kids and third-party fundraising events/efforts.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of other coordinators within Poverty and Child Health priority area.
  • Monitors grant budgets on a regular basis and works with the Executive Director and Director of Operations to modify and realign funds based on program and project needs.
  • Creates and submits budget modifications and narrative reports to the Executive Director and Director of Operations for review, approval, and submittal to funders where applicable.
  • Supports the work of other health initiative areas and works cross-functionally as needed and assigned.

This full-time medical office career opportunity has a Monday – Friday day shift schedule 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, and is located at our outpatient practice in Queen Creek, AZ.

As the Office Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the day to day operations of the practice. Work together as a team with the Medical Director and Business Director.

The Office Manager will be responsible for:

Providing regular department and program specific reports for finance and administration.

Participating in maintaining financial stability by controlling operating expenses and monitoring revenue generation

Scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating regular staff meetings.

Providing recommendations and/or suggestions on modifications that may improve utilization, patient satisfaction or care coordination.

The Office Manager will:

Supervise and supports all staff, including providing orientation, training, and guidance.

Ensure that all office areas are adequately staffed to provide service and acts as a backup when necessary.

Select, train, counsel and terminating support staff in collaboration with Medical Director.

Present timely performance evaluations.

Monitor and approve support staff timecards; ensures staff’s compliance with attendance and punctuality guidelines.

Monitor and coordinate physician/provider time off in consultation with the Medical Director.

Determine and change work assignments as needed.

Investigate and resolve physician or patient complaints, maintains the necessary documentation and alerts the appropriate person with minimal delay.

Develops best practice protocols and workflows to maintain standards of care and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsible for consistently exhibiting polite, courteous and professional behaviors by adhering to Customer Service Standards and Standards of Behavior.

Educational, Experience Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have strong financial and day-to-day operational experience. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, and be a team player with physicians and staff. Strong financial and strategic experience is a must for this position. The candidate should also have strong personal and organizational development skills.

  • At least 3+ years prior experience as an office manager with a medical practice of more than 3+ physicians and preferably multiple locations. Ability to work cooperatively with physicians.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Financial experience in healthcare fiscal management.
  • Familiarity with EMR highly desirable.

Other duties as assigned that are reasonably associated with the essential functions of the operations of the medical practice.
