Chapter initiatives to support:
AzAAP is a tax-exempt charitable organization that accepts contributions to support our work on behalf of Arizona's children. Your generous investments help the Chapter advance a variety of important programs. Here are a few examples:
- Reach Out and Read – Arizona’s pediatric healthcare providers generously volunteer to provide specialized coaching to parents on the importance of reading every day with their children. This evidence-based early childhood literacy program also distributes 200,000 age-appropriate books to 120,000 children ages 6 months to five years of age through 190 sites across the state. Help us prepare even more kids!
$61 a year helps us support one child from their 6 month well-care visit through their 5th year check up = 10 books and lots of literacy coaching!
- Medical Services Project – For students who don't have private health insurance or use of AHCCCS, this program makes the difference in taking care of their acute and episodic healthcare needs. Through the generosity of pediatricians and other health professionals, along with your contributions to coordinate the program, school nurses can refer kids into "donated" appointments to get their health needs (including eyeglasses, x-rays and lab services) addressed. Click here for a printable form, or donate via the link at the top of the page.
- Obesity Prevention – A dedicated committee of physicians and other community physicians work closely on bringing critical resources for obesity prevention to patients and the community through our 5-2-1-0 AZ Way To Go! obesity prevention toolbox and other education initiatives. Help us support healthier lifestyles for all of our communities.
Your investment today helps the Chapter, its staff and statewide membership make differences in the lives of children every day.
