Under Construction.
American Academy of Pediatrics chapters are individually incorporated, externally chartered, operate under their own bylaws and dues structures, and work to further the aims of the national organization, as well as local priorities. The AAP chapter for the state of Arizona, AzAAP, currently represents more approximately 1,000 pediatricians and other types of pediatric healthcare professionals.
Every two years, members elect physicians to serve on the chapter’s Board of Directors (link to page with Board photo and list), which is the chapter's governing body. The Board of Directors elects an Executive Committee to act on behalf of the Board on actions not requiring the full Board’s attention.
Executive Committee members include a president, vice president, immediate-past president, secretary, and treasurer.
Chapter members interested in specific areas of pediatric interest are invited to participate in chapter committees. Committees are invited to make recommendations to the executive committee and Board of Directors, as representative of the diverse chapter membership.
