Young Physicians Committee
The Young Physicians Committee is dedicated to furthering the education of young pediatricians in Arizona and encouraging them to become active members of the medical community. Through a recent survey, the Committee has evaluated the interest areas of young pediatricians and identified short-term goals and objectives.
One interest area was to focus on needs of pediatricians in the early stages of their career. To respond to this, CME activities were offered in Fall, 2011 and Summer, 2012. This event was an opportunity for young pediatricians to network, receive important education and learn more about the activities of the AzAAP and how the Chapter can support their careers.
This committee is currently working on developing a mentorship program to support young pediatricians.
There are volunteer leadership opportunities still available with this committee. Representation from Northern and Southern Arizona is especially being sought.
