Child Abuse Prevention Month Webinar -

Neglect: The Who, What, When, Where, and Why

Ryan Brown, MD, FAAP will present on how to: define neglect; differentiate the forms of neglect; assess a patient with suspicions of neglect; and link caregivers to resources. Questions can be directed to Gretchen Niemann, Safety and Health Promotion Specialist.

About this event

Neglect is the number one form of child maltreatment, but is the least understood. The purpose of this webinar, sponsored by the AAP Council on Child Abuse and Neglect, is to educate the audience on how to properly define neglect, how to differentiate the forms of neglect, how to assess a patient with suspicions of neglect, but most importantly to help prevent neglect by directly linking caregivers to appropriate resources. This presentation is a primer for the provider caring for children and is an introduction to a condition that the presenter will cover more in depth at the 2018 AAP National Conference and Exhibition.
