Reach Out and Read, a program of the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, gives Arizona children the foundation for success by incorporating books into their pediatric well-child care and encouraging families to engage in reading, singing, talking, and playing together.
Our program distributes over 216,000 books per year at nearly 200 clinics in every county throughout Arizona.
The cost of implementing Reach Out and Read Arizona goes beyond the purchase of linguistically, culturally, and developmentally appropriate books for young children. The estimated cost per well child visit of program implementation, including the cost of the book, is $10. This cost includes program implementation and clinic staff support, quality implementation monitoring, provider training on program implementation, and includes the cost of a linguistically, culturally, and developmentally appropriate book for the child to take home to enjoy with their family.
A donation of $10 supports one child and their family at their annual well child visit.
A donation of $50 supports five children and their respective families at their annual well child visit.
Any amount is welcome!
Your donation helps families create strong bonds, ensures children are ready for school, and gives a child an opportunity to grow up with books and a love of reading!
