Reach Out and Read Arizona is the statewide Affiliate of the national Reach Out and Read program, an evidence-based program that helps ensure that every child has the healthy foundation they need—cognitively, socially, and emotionally. As a program of the Arizona Chapter of the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, we encourage and provide guidance for healthy growth and early literacy for millions of children through pediatric well visits. This delivers exceptional, lasting benefits to children and families.
There are two ways to support Reach Out & Read Arizona; by organizing a virtual book drive (below) or becoming a monthly donor. Click on the Early Relational Health GEM logo to learn more about monthly giving.
At Reach Out and Read, we believe all children should grow up learning a love of reading on the laps of people who love them. That’s why our doctors work with parents every day to demonstrate the value of reading aloud and beginning basic math concepts.
They share 6.6 Million books each year and that's why we need YOU! When you donate books through Reach Out and Read's Virtual Book Drive, you provide over 33,000 medical practitioners across the United States with the tools they need to promote reading aloud every day.
We can work with individuals, businesses, corporations and schools around employee engagement and other opportunities. Please contact us at melanie@azaap.org or 602 532-0137 x413 to learn more about AzAAP's aid in this endeavor.

Early Relational Health GEMs, donors who give every month, are champions for children and families across the state of Arizona. GEMs are committed to building strong, resilient, and thriving children who are supported by strong family bonds and healthy nurturing relationships.
Many of the families we serve don't have books at home to read together. By becoming an Early Relational Health GEM, you can help us change that. With a gift of just $10 or more per month, you can provide children with a foundation for success, strengthen our society, and help combat the effects of income inequality.
